A life shared with dogs
A dog lover to my very core, I have always admired how dogs can learn complex behaviors and have the superpower to make people smile. The very idea I could have a happy and fulfilling career that included dogs was the catalyst behind the beginnings of The Dog Training Connection.
In 2018 I became a certified emergency animal rescue volunteer with the North Valley Animal Disaster Group during the wildfires in Paradise, California. It was a heartbreaking experience, but at the same time, it was amazing to see dogs reunited with their families, and it inspired me to dedicate my career to helping dogs and their people form deeper connections.
I began my canine career in 2019 at a popular dog training and boarding facility. This opportunity gave me hands-on experience in canine communication and behavior. Every ear, tail and body position became recognizable dog language to me. I developed a passion for teaching dogs how to live calmly and politely in their human world, and to help their families better communicate with their dogs.
In 2020 I completed my professional certification as a positive reinforcement trainer with the world-renowned Karen Pryor Academy, and immediately started The Dog Training Connection.
When I’m not helping clients, my free time is still very much doggy-focused. I regularly volunteer with Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS), and Southern Oregon Humane Society.
My husband and I can also be found hiking with our two dogs Huxley and Adley. They love the freedom of going on sniff safaris and getting the chance to run free and get dirty. They are also helping me launch my own dog treat and enrichment company The Joy of Wagging, by being my taste testers and quality assurance officers of the organic baked doggy treats.
The Pack
Thank you to all The Dog Training Connection doggies and their families. You and your dogs are the peanut butter to my Kong. Crazy big furry love to you all.
